Is there any lasting fulfillment or hope?
Wars are raging, diseases are rampant, children are starving, addictions are prevalent, wealth is fleeting, and human relationships are falling apart. Is there any lasting fulfillment or hope in life?
There is Good News – God Cares About Us!
“God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” – Jesus Christ (John 3:16)
“Do you not know? Have you not heard? The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.” – Isaiah 40:28-29
God knows your circumstances. And He cares! In fact, God has made an incredible personal sacrifice to offer
you peace, joy, love, acceptance, strength, wisdom, fulfillment, meaning, and eternal life. He has communicated to us how all this is possible, through His Word, the Bible, also known as “God’s Love Letter to the Human Race.”
God’s Word Tells Us Three Important Things:
- Our sins have cut us off from Him:
“It’s your sins that have cut you off from God.” – Isaiah 59:2a
- God loves us so much that He sent His Son to mend our broken relationship with Him:
“But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.” – Romans 5:8
- God offers you a restored relationship with Him and eternal life:
“I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.” – John 10:10
“For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord” – Romans 6:23
DO YOU SENSE GOD’S SPIRIT DRAWING YOU TO HIM? ARE YOU READY TO RECEIVE THE HOPE AND FULFILLMENT GOD HAS PROVIDED IN HIS SON JESUS CHRIST? ARE YOU READY TO RECEIVE HIS GIFT OF AN ETERNALLY RESTORED RELATIONSHIP WITH HIM?
If so, you simply need to respond to God in prayer. In your own words you might pray something like the prayer example below. Remember though, the attitude of your heart is more important than the specific words you say. This example only serves as a guide to what your heart should be feeling as you respond to God. If you pray sincerely Jesus will come into your life, and through Him your relationship with God will be restored and you will also receive eternal life.
“Dear God, I know Jesus is your Son, and that He died on the cross, and was raised from the dead. Because I have sinned, I ask for your forgiveness, and I accept what Jesus did on my behalf on the cross. Jesus, to come into my life. I acknowledge my need for you to change the direction of my life. Thank you for loving me just as I am and forgiving me, thank you for your Holy Spirit’s prompting and for the promise that you will live inside me though Him. Thank you too for the promise of eternal life in your presence. Amen.”
“And this is what God has testified: He has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have God’s Son does not have life. I have written this to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know you have eternal life.” 1 John 5:11-13
