What is it like at Community Church of the Open Door?
Besides our Sunday services, there are a lot of activities going on throughout the week at our Open Door facility. Our youth group, Beyond Existence, meets on Wednesday nights at 6pm, and some other Small Groups meet at our facility as well. Seasonally we offer the Dave Ramsey courses Financial Peace University and Legacy Journey. We also offer Alpha and Alpha Marriage annually, and a fly tying course, periodically. Information on these and other small groups can be found on our Groups page. We also host great ministries and services throughout the week; MOPS International (mothers of preschoolers), Soul Care (a biblical counseling ministry), and AA (on Saturday evenings).
How many attend Open Door on Sundays?
God continues to pour out His blessings on Open Door and one of the greatest of those blessings is people! There are over 100 people attending our Small Groups throughout the week and approximately 200 in weekend Sunday Worship Services.
What are Sunday services like?
When you arrive on Sunday morning, there are greeters to help you find your way. In our Kid’s Zone, nursery is available for ages up to 3 years, and Kid’s Church is available through grade 6. Check your kids in at the Kid’s Zone when you first arrive, then head upstairs with them. After the first worship song, the kids will be invited to head back downstairs to Kid’s Church with Pastor Phil. They are also welcome to remain in the service with their parents. The worship time is a mix of contemporary worship & praise music. Pastor Mark spends about 30 minutes teaching from God’s word, and then an offering is taken. (We welcome visitors to let the offering basket pass and just enjoy worshiping with us). Each service is an hour long.
Do I need to dress up to fit in at Open Door?
Open Door has a “come as you are” atmosphere. You will see some people dressed up and some dressed very casually. We have no expectations for attire.
